DSSAB has a new name

The Rainy River District Social Services Administration Board is no more.

It is now the District of Rainy River Services Board.

The board says the name change was done to better reflect the services offered through the organization.

The word “social” was dropped because paramedic services and community paramedicine are not considered social services.

Along with the new name, the board adopted a new logo.

The new logo shows hands supporting people.

The four colours are meant to reflect those from the original logo while opting for more complementary tones.

The agency is responsible for the delivery and management of early learning and child care, Ontario Works, community housing and homelessness services, and paramedic services across the Rainy River District.
