Three arrested in Kenora robbery

A Winnipeg man and two Kenora residents have been charged following a robbery on Valley Drive in Kenora.

Police say three people held up a business, with one pointing a pistol-type firearm at an employee before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

OPP initiated a brief search for the trio with the help of their Northwest Region Emergency Response Team and K-9 Unit, but came up empty.

They later identify the suspects and make the arrests.

A 24-year-old from Winnipeg was charged with robbery using a firearm, pointing a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, and knowledge of unauthorized possession of a firearm.

He was remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.

A 25-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man, both from Kenora, were charged with robbery using a firearm and released on a promise to appear in court at a later date.
