Suspect faces seven charges following Dryden assault

One person faces seven charges in connection to an assault that landed two police officers in Dryden in hospital.

The OPP say the incident took place around 8:30 Tuesday night when officers responded to an assault in a home on Pitt Avenue.

When they arrived, three officers were attacked by a person using a edged weapon.

Two of the officers had to be transported to hospital for treatment, and the other officer suffered only minor injuries and wasn’t transported to hospital.

A 30 year old Dryden man faces two count of aggravated assault of a peace officer, assault with a weapon, three counts of resisting a peace officer and public mischief.

The suspect is being held in custody and is scheduled to appear in Kenora Court at a later date.
