Former Lieutenant Governor passes away

The former Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario has passed away.

James Bartleman died on Monday, according to a release from Elizabeth Dowdeswell, the current Lieutenant-Governor.

Part of Bartleman’s legacy is a creative writing competition for Indigenous youth in Ontario.

He also was involved in collected 1.2 million books for first nation school and native friendship centers.

Bartleman was 83 years old.
