Boil water advisory issued in Ignace

The township of Ignace is under a boil water advisory.

It is issued after a main water line break on Monday at Naumann Lake.

Many residents reported losing water pressure around the noon hour.

A notice from the township says due to recent repairs, the safety of its drinking water cannot be guaranteed.

Residents are advised to boil their water for at least one minute before using it for consumption.

This includes using it for brushing teeth or soaking false teeth, washing fruits and vegetables, adding to uncooked food or drink, ice cubes and water for pets.

The township says the advisory will remain in place until further notice.
