Some residents in Koochiching County are casting ballots today.
It is a primary election for Commissioner in District Five.
District 5 covers the west end of the County, including the areas of Big Falls, Northome, Mizpah, Dinner Creek, Scarlett, and Meadowbrook.
Four people are running – Rich Mastin of Big Falls, Erika Stoltzman of Marie, Dale Promersberger of Big Falls, and Dale Erickson of Bircdale.
Today’s vote will narrow the field to two candidates for the November 7th ballot.
The election was called following the sudden death of Wayne Skoe in February.
Skoe was District 5 Commissioner for eleven years.
