Park reopens campsites

All of Voyageurs National Park’s campsites are now open for use.

The park shut down three sites earlier this year because of active bald eagle nesting areas nearby.

Park officials say a recent aerial survey of the nests found no eaglets.

The park identified 50 nests this year.

Twenty-three were occupied by breeding eagles.

Additional flights will be conducted later this month to determine if the other nests produced fledged chicks.
