Town outlines plans to repair depot

It could be the middle of June before the town is ready to accept recycled material at its depot again.

The town closed the depot following a fire at the recycling facility on Saturday.

All of the electrical equipment needed to run the compactors was destroyed.

A Facebook post says the town has started the procedure to acquire new equipment and have it installed.

The town is targeting June 15 for a completion day and when it may be able to accept materials again.

Planning for a new building has also started but there is no timetable as to when construction may begin.

In the meantime, residents are being asked to store their recycled materials until further notice.

The town is still work on a plan to resume curbside collection which was also halted by the fire.

The town is asking not to bring their recycled materials to the depot.
