Two area organizations are receiving funding to help preserve their area’s history.

Friends of Grain Elevators will use $50,000 for an oral history project about the grain trade in Thunder Bay.

The Red Rock Historical Society is getting $38,479.00 to digitize and preserve historical materials related to the community.

The money comes from Library and Archives Canada’s Documentary Heritage Communities Program.
