The number 33 proved lucky for a resident of Barwick.
Heather Olsther won $12,885 in April’s draw of Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s monthly cash draw.
A member of Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary member, Olsther usually purchases lottery tickets containing the number 33, the same one her husband used when racing stock cars.
Ticket numbers in the Foundation’s draw cannot be chosen as they are purchased electronically and issued randomly.
However, one did contain 33 at the beginning.
It was that ticket that turned out to be the jackpot winner.
Olsther has no immediate plans for her winnings but proposes to donate some back to the Foundation.
Tickets for May’s draw are now available at www.riverside5050.ca or by calling the Foundation Office at 807-274-4803 to arrange for offline sales.
The proceeds go toward the purchase of medical equipment for Riverside Health Care and its facilities in Rainy River, Emo and Fort Frances.
