Record start to 2023 for Rainy River Mine

A strong start to 2023 for New Gold at its Rainy River mine.

The mining company says over 66 thousand ounces of gold have been mined in the first three months of this year.

That is nearly thirteen per cent better than the same period last year.

President and Chief Executive Officer Patrick Godin says it is also the strongest first quarter in the mine’s history.

Godin says better than expected ore grades from underground operation helped.

The amount of ore processed was slightly lower than last year.

Godin says that was because of mechanical maintenance at the mill and crusher.
