Funding for Third St. W. received

Fort Frances is getting some provincial funding as a first step toward the reconstruction of Third Street West.

The $93,000 will be used in the design work on a section of Third Street West.

The funding is through the province’s Connecting Link program used to help municipalities fix up roads that serve as links for the provincial highway system.

A reconstruction of the road between Central and York Avenues is planned.

The town has the project on its books for 2024.

It is estimated to cost $2.2 million

No contract has yet been issued for the work.
