Muskies curling team splits games on day 2

The Fort Frances Muskies boys team skipped by Jackson Marchant split games on day two of the all-Ontario high school boys curling champion in North Bay.

The rink started the day strong with a convincing win over the St. Peter’s Panthers’ rink from Barrie.

The Fort Frances foursome scored 12 straight points in the four ends en route to a 14-3 victory.

In the late afternoon draw, the Muskies team gave up seven straight points in the first four ends to the Ridgetown Royals in an 8-2 loss.

It leaves them with a 1-3 record and in a three-way tie for fourth place in their pool.

The Muskies play their final round-robin game later this afternoon (2 p.m. CST) against École secondaire catholique Pierre-Savard from Ottawa.

The top eight teams among the three pools will advance to the quarterfinal being played this evening.
