Muskie boys hockey team win NorWOSSA Gold

The Fort Frances Muskies are the NorWOSSA boys hockey champs.

The Muskies downed the Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora Friday afternoon 3-2.

The Muskies got on the scoreboard first with a shorthanded goal by Ashton Veldhuisen in the second period.

The Broncos would tie it up on the third period with a goal by Jack Kobylka, and went up 2-1 early in the third period.

But Fort Frances would tie it up a minute later, and Grayson Burnell scored the game winner at the 9 minute mark of the third period.

The Muskies complete a perfect season, including going 4-0 in the playoffs.

Fort Frances now advances to the OFSSA championships in St. Catharines at the end of this month.
