FF curling teams heading to NWOSSA

A pair of NorWOSSA championships for Fort Frances Muskies curling teams.

The boys’ team secured the win Monday with a split of games against Kenora’s Beaver Brae Broncos in Kenora.

After the Muskies won the first two games on Sunday, the Broncos won the morning draw 6-4, with the Muskies securing the title with a 12-4 victory in the mid-morning game.

The girls’ team secured victory with a 10-3 win over Atikokan and a 9-1 win over Atikokan to finish 4-0.

The two teams now prepare for the NWOSSA championships taking place in Fort Frances on March 5-7.
The mixed team settled for a silver medal after a 7-6 loss in an extra end to St. Thomas Aquinas.

The team had lost a 6-4 game earlier in the day to Atikokan.
