Potential Copper/Zinc Deposit Identified North of FF

A mining company is hoping to explore an area north of Fort Frances for copper and zinc.

Strom Exploration says it has identified the potential of both minerals at its Gold Standard project.
It is located about 65 kilometres north of the community where active gold mines existed in the early 1900s.

Storm Exploration acquired the 615-hectare property last spring.

Copper and Zinc were first identified in the 1960s by another company but never pursued.

Storm Exploration is planning to do soil sampling this spring with hopes of conducting drilling later in the year.

The company says it is also working on Memorandums of Understanding with Naicatchewenin and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nations as the land falls within their traditional territories.
