Will Inflation Affect Canadian Spending On Valentine’s Day?

Love is in the air, but will rising costs have an impact on how much you spend for Valentine’s Day?

Field Agent Canada interviewed 1147 Canadians on February 9 and 10th to see if inflation will have an effect this year.

In 2022, 67 percent of Canadians said that they bought cards, chocolates, candy, flowers or other gifts.

In this year’s survey, 49 percent said they’d spend the same amount, while 35 percent said they would spend less.

There’s going news for dining out though. 44 percent of respondents plan on going out to celebrate, whereas last year, that number was only 36 percent.
