Community service organizations across Canada can apply for funding to help with pandemic recovery.
The federal government has set aside $400 million for the recently announced Community Services Recovery Fund.
Officials say the fund will help charities, non-profits and Indigenous governing bodies to deliver services and resources where they’ll have the most impact.
“This transformational investment with the National Funders supports a more inclusive model of economic growth that creates opportunities at the community level,” Families, Children and Social Development Minister Karina Gould said in a news release.
The application process is being managed by three organizations: the Canadian Red Cross, Community Foundations of Canada, and United Way Centraide Canada.
According to the federal government, the fund will help community service organizations to “invest in their own organizational capacity” under one of three project areas: people; systems and processes; and program and service innovation and redesign.
The deadline for funding applications is Feb. 21. Funded projects will begin May 1 and continue into 2024.
