Fort Frances Council Holds Meeting

A newly-minted Fort Frances town council meets for the first time tonight since being sworn into office last Monday.

This year’s citizen of the year will be announced.

Three people were nominated for this year’s award. No one was nominated for the town’s junior citizen of the year.

Also tonight, council will consider using the Consumer Price Index of 6.5 per cent as the benchmark for a potential increase in user fees.

Updates on the splash pad and Sister Kennedy Centre expansion are also on the agenda.

The meeting takes place at the Fort Frances Civic Centre beginning at 5:30 p.m.

You can also view the meeting online with the link found on the council agenda located on the town’s website.
