Blackstock Introduced As First Chancellor Of NOSM

The Northern School of Medicine University has announced its first ever chancellor.

Dr. Cindy Blackstock was introduced yesterday.

Blackstock is well-known for her advocacy of indigenous children and families in Canada and was the the co-founder and Executive Director of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society, and a Professor at McGill University.

She’ll be installed as chancellor at NOSM’s convocation ceremony next May and will begin a four year term of office.

Blackstock also joins the inaugural Board of Governors, which will begin their terms on January 1st.
