The township of Alberton is trying to head off the potential of rejected ballots showing up on election day.
The township says it has already received six secrecy envelopes that were part of the voting packages sent to voters as part of the vote-by-mail method being used.
However, those envelopes were supposed to be inside a Reply Envelope, along with the Voter Declaration Form.
The form enables the township to mark a voter’s name off the voter’s list once their ballot has been received and counted.
Without that form, the ballot will be rejected.
Township officials say new ballots will be issued to those who think they sent their ballots back without that form.

The township faced a similar issue in 2018, with nine ballots being rejected because they did not contain the Voter Declaration Form.
Mike Ford was defeated Mike Hammond for reeve that year by just four votes.
Both are running for reeve again this year.
It is the only seat to be contest this time. All of the candidates that filed for the four councillor positions have been acclaimed.
