Former NFLer from International Falls Dies

One of the first players ever to be signed by the Minnesota Vikings and hailed from International Falls has died.

Frank Youso was 86.

An online obituary says he died Saturday at Rainy Lake Medical Center.

Youso broke into the NFL with the New York Giants in 1958 before signing with the expansion Vikings in 1961.

He finished off an 8-year career with three seasons in Oakland.

He played a total of 92 games, named a starter in 82.

Funeral services are planned for this Friday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.
