FedNor Supports Area Tourism Improvements

Several tourism initiatives in the Rainy River District are receiving funding through FedNor.

The Manitou Mounds Foundation is receiving almost half a million dollars for upgrades to the Kay-Nah-chi-Wah-Nung Historical Centre.

Seine River First Nation is getting $108 thousand to develop new reality and virtual reality components as part of a cultural tourism experience at its cultural centre.

Emo-based Border Country Outfitters will use $100 thousand to upgrade its facilities.

Gateway North Outfitters, also based in Emo, will use $100 thousand to build two new cabins.

Red Deer Lodge in Nestor Falls is using $100 thousand to install a new septic system.

Rainy River Future Development Corporation is getting $99 thousand to develop tourism products, along with marketing and promotion efforts.

Camp Narrows Lodge is receiving over $87 thousand to upgrade its facilities.

Duck Bay Lodge on Sabaskong Bay is using over $87 thousand to build a new staff cabin on Lake of the Woods.

The Township of Chapple is getting $72 thousand to construct an outdoor tourism facility on its waterfront.

Clarke and Crombie Camps in Nestor Falls is building a new fish clean house and renovating a cabin with a 50 thousand dollar FedNor grant.
