Heavy Rainfall Possible

A heavy rainfall warning has been issued for the Rainy River District.

Environment Canada says a system passing through the area today and tomorrow could leave up to 80 mm of rain in the areas of Atikokan, Mine Centre and Seine River.

Up to 50 mm is possible for the Fort Frances, Emo and Rainy River areas.

Similar warnings have also been issued for the Sioux Narrows, Nestor Falls and Morson regions.

Environment Canada says it is still watching the track of the system, so expected rainfall amounts could change dramatically.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is also possible.
If visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop.
