Minnesota Man Dies in Apparent Drowning

A 43-year-old man has died in an apparent drowning accident.

St. Louis County Sheriff’s Deputies and the County’s Rescue squad were called to the Vermilion River near Crane Lake early Saturday afternoon about a missing man after his overturned canoe was found.

The resident of Orr, Minnesota, had been in the area harvesting wild rice.

His body would be discovered by searchers late Sunday afternoon.

The cause of death is still under investigation.

His name is being withheld pending family notification.
