Borderland Pride is out with a survey for some of the candidates seeking municipal office in Emo.
It asks six first-time candidates running for councillor for their opinions on an Ontario Human Rights case involving the municipality and Borderland Pride.
That case involved Emo township council’s refusal to recognize Pride Month two years ago.
The survey was not sent to current council members seeking re-election or Mayor Harold McQuaker, who was unopposed in a bid for another term.
Borderland Pride says their views are already known.
McQuaker and Councillors Harrold Boven and Warren Toles voted against the 2020 resolution.
Councillors Lori-Ann Shortreed and Lincoln Dunn voted in support.
Toles and Dunn are not seeking re-election.
The brief survey also asks the candidates for their views on Pride and LGBTQ2 inclusion.
Borderland Pride is giving the candidates until October 7 to respond.
