The search for someone to serve as a trustee for the Atikokan area is being extended.
No one filed for the seat with the Rainy River District School Board by the time the initial deadline passed last Friday.
The town’s Returning Officer has now extended the deadline for that seat until tomorrow at 2 p.m.
If no one steps forward, the newly elected board of trustees will have the option of filling the seat by appointment.
