Counterfeit Test Kits Found

Health Canada is warning of counterfeit rapid antigen COVID tests being found in Ontario.

They were distributed by Healthful Plus, which does not have the required licencing to import, distribute or sell the medical devices in Canada.

The kits look like the real thing, except that they are labelled with Health Advance as the manufacturer and being Health Canada Approved.

The real kits are manufactured by BTNX and labelled QC approved.

Health Canada was alerted after a purchaser acquired 435 boxes for personal use.

If you have any of the kits in your possession, Health Canada advises not to use them.

You are asked to contact Health Canada or BTNX by calling toll-free at 1-888-339-9964 or by email at covid19@btnx.com with the subject line “Suspected Counterfeit BTNX Tests.”
