Anglers Happy to Be Back

Another successful Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship has wrapped up.

A total of 180 anglers took part.

While there was a tournament last year, this year was the first to have spectators and American anglers back and a top ten through the tent site since 2019.

John Peterson of Bemidji was making his thirteen appearances with fishing partner Jeff Gustafson of Kenora and was happy to be back.

“It is well run with a great big circus tent. They load this thing up on the final day. I don’t know how many people were in there today, but they have been 1,000 people in there, and everybody’s having fun. The music is good. It’s entertaining,” says Peterson.

Motei Demers of Kenora was a first-time participant and looks forward to coming back next year.

“I think it’s probably one of the best well-run tournaments in Canada. It’s unbelievable how many sponsors and volunteers are behind this,” says Demers.
