Storm Knocked out Power Across NWO

Almost 1,500 Hydro One customers across the Rainy River District are waking up this morning to no power.

It’s the result of a storm that passed through the area overnight that was packed with strong winds.

Hydro One crews are dealing with several outages, including in an area stretching north of Nestor Falls down to Finland and Off Lake Corner.

Other outages are impacting the Morson, Northwest Bay, Mine Centre, Seine River, Lac La Croix, and the Reef Point Road areas.

Hydro One hopes to have power fully restored to all areas by 11 a.m. today.

It is also working to get the lights back on in the Kenora and Dryden regions.

Almost 4,000 Hydro One customers lost power last night.

There are still over one thousand without electricity this morning.
