It will be a short summer break for newly elected MPPs.
Premier Doug Ford says the legislature will resume in early August.
“We’re going to come back August 8. I think we’ll be sitting approximately for five weeks, and we’re going to get things moving forward,” says the Premier.
It will begin with the election of a Speak of the House.
Ford says one of the main priorities will be approval of the budget introduced in May just before the election call.
“We will pass the budget, the great budget that Minister Bethlanfalvy put together, and we’re going to move things forward as quickly as possible,” says Ford.
