COVID Outbreak At Rainycrest

An outbreak of COVID-19 has been identified at Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances.

That’s prompted measures to minimize the risk to other residents.

Visits are being limited to one essential or designated caregiver per resident. Those visits must take place in the resident’s room.

Visitation rules for residents in palliative care will remain in effect.

Those affected have been placed in isolation.

The home is undertaking additional high-touch cleaning practices.

Admissions, transfers, discharges and group activities have also been cancelled.

N95 masks must be worn by staff and visitors in designated areas.

The home recently lifted restrictions after a respiratory outbreak last month.

This is the third time a COVID outbreak has been declared at Rainycrest since the start of the pandemic.

The other two occurred in January and March 2021.
