Snowmobile/Ambulance Collide

A 61-year-old man is dead following an accident involving a snowmachine and an ambulance in northern Minnesota.

It happened Saturday around 3:30 p.m. on the Ash River Trail, south of International Falls.

St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says medical responders with the Kabetogama Fire Department were enroute to a medical call when their vehicle came into collision with a snowmobile.

Authorities say the snowmobiler was attempting to cross over to a trail.

The man died at the scene despite life-saving efforts by medical personnel.

His name has been withheld pending notification of family members.
