Just One Fire in January

A relatively quiet month for the Fort Frances Fire/Rescue Service.

It responded to 24 calls in January, but eleven turned out to be false alarms.

There was just one fire call, which ended up being minor in nature.

The department says it involved combustibles near a stove. There was no fire by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.

Firefighters were also called upon to free someone from a stuck elevator.

There were also two motor vehicle accidents requiring the department’s help. Both were within the town of Fort Frances.
