Ontario Liberals gathered for a virtual conference on the weekend.
Much of the focus was on programs of a federal nature.
Still, provincial leader Steven Del Duca used the opportunity to seek out delegates’ support this June.
“We need to work together to ensure that Doug Ford’s failed first term in office is truly his last,” says Del Duca.
Del Duca says the province has been falling backwards since the Progressive Conservatives under Doug Ford took over.
“We went from strengthening healthcare to making ill-advised cuts to public health and disrespecting nurses. We went from building new schools in every corner of Ontario to barely keeping the lights on in the schools that we had.”
Del Duca says Liberals need to step up to return the party to power in the province.
“Frontline workers need us. The health care system needs us. And the marginalized and the hurting and the overlooked and the vulnerable, well, they really need us. There’s no doubt about this. Canada needs us too.
Del Duca says Liberal supporters need to do everything they can to elect a Liberal government in June.
