Ontario’s Liberal leader is reiterating the need to expand the need for vaccine passports.
Steven Del Duca wants them used to access at liquor, cannabis and other non-essential retail outlets
He also wants to redefine the term fully vaccinated to include the booster shot.
“These two actions would seriously strengthen where we are and what our reaction is going to be, what our response is going to be in the coming days and weeks,” says De Duca
Del Duca notes Ontario’s top doctors also support the need for stronger vaccine certificates.
“We’ve heard from the head of the science table. We’ve heard from others who believe that element should be added to make sure that the nearly 6 million Ontarians who have done their part and got their third dose, that’s good progress, but we need that number to come up.”
As part of his proposal, Del Duca recommends establishing curbside pickup at LCBO outlets for those not fully vaccinated.
