Governor Proposes $2.8 billion in Capital Projects

No specific projects, but several initiatives Koochiching County may benefit from Governor Tim Walz’s proposed capital list.

He’s recommending almost $2.8 billion in spending, with two billion of that coming through a bonding bill.

Nearly $5.5 billion in requests were considered.

Walz says his proposal will repair and replace critical infrastructure, such as bridges, roads and fire stations.

There are a million dollars to upgrade arenas, another million to make libraries more accessible and $250-million specific for housing initiatives.
