Winter Weather Travel Advisory Issued

Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for the entire region.

A low-pressure system tracking south will bring significant snowfall to northwestern Ontario starting early Tuesday morning.

Ten to fifteen centimetres of snow is expected by the time the system moves away from the area overnight.

The falling snow will be, at times, heavy.

Strong winds are also expected to create local blowing snow making travel conditions, especially on highways, more difficult.

Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans.

If you must drive, be prepared for areas of poor visibility.

Highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
