Minneapolis Voters Reject City Police Ballot Question

Minneapolis voters have said no to replacing their city police department.

It was a question on yesterday’s municipal election vote.

The question asked if voters approved the city police being replaced by a new public safety department.

Fifty-four per cent said no.

It stemmed from last summer’s high-profile killing of George Floyd at the hands of police.

Many people called for the city and the state to defund the department at the time.
