Muskies Go Undefeated In Exhibition Series

The Fort Frances Muskies girls hockey team went undefeated in three exhibition games, wrapping up yesterday with a 6-3 win over the Dryden Eagles.

Saturday, the Muskies tied Kenora’s Thomas Aquinas Saints 3-3 before winning 4-3 in a second.

Sunday, Abbie Kenny scored twice with singles from Kianna Antonick, Peyton Kinnear, Piper Cross, and Kathrine Fischer.

Dryden opened the scoring before Kenny tied the game with Kinnear and Ellayna Kabel drawing assists.

The Eagles took the lead again before Antonick evened the score on a pass from Kinnear.

Dryden regains the lead early in the second period before the Muskies rallied for three straight goals at the mid-way point.

Kinnear tied the game a third time with Tatum Glowasky and Courtney McCoy drawing assists.

Kenny put the Muskies on top for good with Jerzi Calder drawing the helper.

Cross rounded out in the second period scoring with assists from Raelle Redford and Antonick.

Fischer closed out the scoring in the third with an unassisted marker.

Maddie Bliss was in net for the win.

In Saturday’s first game with the Saints, all of the scoring came in the second period.

After the Saints opened the scoring, the Muskies responded ten minutes later with Redford getting credit. Cross and Hailey Bombay drew the assists.

The Saints went ahead 3-1 before Kiera Fairington, on an unassisted goal and Kinnear, evened the score again.

Piper Miller and Kenny drew assists on that goal.

Isabelle Fortes drew the win in net.

In the evening contest, Glowasky accounted for three straight goals before Kenny notched the game-winner, 23 seconds left in the third period.
Fischer picked up a pair of assists in the game.

Jersey Mason was in net for the win.
