West Fraser Slows Production

West Fraser is scaling back operations.

The company says production will be reduced 5 to 10 per cent over the next three months at several of its lumber mills and OSB mills, including the one in Barwick.

It cites the forest fires in British Columbia, constraints on acquiring resins used in the making of panel products, transportation service interruptions and inventory levels as reasons.

The company notes several mills were already working at reduced capacity, which will remain, at least during the third quarter of this year.
