Ont. Reports 740 New Cases

Ontario is seeing a slight drop in COVID-19 cases compared to Saturday’s figure.

Health Minister Christine Elliott is tweeting there are 740 new cases as of Sunday, after the province reported 835 infections the day before.

Out of the latest cases, 74.4 per cent are either not fully vaccinated or their vaccine status is not known. 189 are fully-vaccinated.

Ontario has now double-vaccinated 76 per cent of all residents aged 12 or older, while 82.8 per cent of that age group have one dose.

214 people are hospitalized with COVID-19, and 158 people are in ICU due to the disease. Those figures may not be up-to-date because not all hospitals report to the province on weekends.
