The International Falls Bass Championship is back.
Fishing gets underway today.
President Gary Potter says he’s happy to be back after cancelling last year.
“Yes, it feels really good. You can feel the excitement is building in town. Took off, obviously, a year off, and we’re still trying to shake the rust off of stuff that we just kind of took for granted that we knew. We’re still trying to scratch your head how we did that couple of years ago,” says Potter.
Because of the border restrictions, the field is predominately American anglers.
Potter says a long waiting list made sure the field was full.
“When a lot of our Canadian anglers couldn’t get across the bridge because of the border still being closed, we were able to fill in with the teams on the waiting list. So, (it) should be a fun weekend.”
Fishing kicks off today, with the weigh-ins being streamed on the tournament’s website.
A champion will be determined tomorrow.
