The Great Northern Ontario Roadshow gets underway today in Fort Frances.
It’s an opportunity for you to discover everything happening in your backyard.
Science North came up with the idea, and Director of Education and Northern Programs, Ryan Land, says it was a response to the impact of the pandemic.
“We saw this as an opportunity to leverage what we do, which is entertaining, educational, fun, science experiences and use those as a magnet to draw in some energizing, some energy into the economy again,” says Land.
Land says they’ll have a number of hands-on exhibits tied to science.
“Fastest slapshot challenges, some games that we’ve got in there, building cars and using sort of hands-on experiential science activities to make connections and also make connections to the things you can do in the region.”
The Fort Frances Chamber of Commerce has teamed with Science North for the Fort Frances event, which kicks off a tour of fifty communities over the next twelve months
About 30 booths promoting area businesses and organizations will be there.
It goes from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. tonight, and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow.
There is no cost to attend.
