Youth Eligible For Second Dose Of COVID-19 Vaccine

The Northwestern Health Unit has expanded second dose eligibility for the COVID-19 vaccine to include youth.

Those aged 12-17 years can now book an appointment for their second dose if they had their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least 21 days ago.

Health officials add as the NWHU starts to wind down their mass clinics, now is the time for area residents to get either their first or second dose of the vaccine.

Eligibility

1st Dose: Anyone aged 12 years or older
2nd Dose: Anyone aged 12 years or older who:

  • had a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine at least 21 days ago;
  • had a first dose of the Moderna vaccine at least 28 days ago;
  • had a first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine at least 56 days / 8 weeks ago.
