Another Day With No COVID Cases

Two straight days of no COVID cases in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.

There are now ten active cases, a drop of two from Monday.

Seven are in the Kenora area, two in Sioux Lookout and one in Atikokan.

A total of 51,568 vaccines have been administered.

The Health Unit says 63 per cent of eligible residents have not received at least one shot of the vaccine.

The Fort Frances and Atikokan areas are leading the way with almost 69 per cent vaccination rates.

The Thunder Bay District Health Unit recorded three new positives today and has an active case count of 54.

Ontario saw its lowest caseload since last October.

The province is reporting 699 new positives and 9 COVID-related deaths.

There were no new cases in Minnesota’s Koochiching County, either.

Minnesota reported 134 cases on Tuesday, its lowest number in several months.
