Vaccines Coming To 40+, At-Risk Group

The province is opening up COVID-19 vaccine booking to more adults in the coming days.

Starting Tuesday, you can book your shot if you have a condition the province says puts you at risk, including diabetes, dementia, or sickle cell disease.

You can also make an appointment starting today if you’re considered essential and can’t work from home.

Those include grocery store employees, restaurant staff and truck drivers.

The program expands further on Thursday, with anyone over age 40 living in areas outside of the so-called hot spots getting the ability to make an appointment.

An increased vaccine supply is also allowing for high-risk health care workers, dialysis patients and Indigenous people to receive their second dose earlier than expected.

Bookings for them will start by the end of this week.
