Health Unit Adds Five New Cases

The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting five new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Monday morning.

Both the Dryden and Sioux Lookout areas have two new cases with the fifth reported in the Kenora region.

As is the procedure, follow-up is now underway with the cases as well as their close contacts. If you are a known close contact of a confirmed case, the NWHU says they will contact you directly.

The five new cases come after an Easter long weekend that had the regional health authority confirm 15 new cases of the novel coronavirus.

There are now a total of 62 active cases across the entire NWHU catchment area; 23 in the Sioux Lookout region, 19 in the Kenora area, 16 in the Dryden health hub and one each in Fort Frances and Red Lake.

The Health Unit confirms there are now 651 recovered cases.
