Month Long Lockdown Possible

As of Saturday, the entire province could be in the Grey-Lockdown zone.

Multiple reports indicate the provincial government will put all of Ontario under lockdown for one month starting on Saturday at 12:01 am.

In Grey-Lockdown nonessential retail businesses can remain open with a 25 per cent capacity limit.

Schools may also stop in-class learning.

A letter issued by the York Catholic District School Board indicates a switch to remote learning starting on Monday.

There have been no such letters issued by the Rainy River District School Board or the Northwest Catholic District School Board.

Premier Doug Ford said Wednesday he would have more to say today on what steps will be taken to curb the increase in COVID-19 cases in the province.

According to the reports, the measure would also include not allowing hair and nail salons along with barbershops to reopen on April 12 as previously promised.

Right now, parts of the province, including Toronto, Hamilton and Thunder Bay are in lockdown.

The Rainy River District, which has no active cases of COVID-19, is currently in the Red zone.
