More COVID-Related Deaths In Northwestern Ontario

There have been more deaths related to COVID-19 in the Northwestern Health Unit area.

Provincial data identifies the latest victims as a woman in her 50s and a man in his 80s.

It does not reveal their hometowns.

That brings to six the number of people from the Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area who have died with the virus being a contributing factor.

The Health Unit is also reporting five new cases of COVID-19.

They are scattered throughout the Sioux Lookout, Dryden and Kenora areas.

A total of 35 are active, none in the Rainy River district.

Four more people have lost their lives to COVID-19 in the Thunder Bay district.

The health unit added 25 new cases yesterday.

Its active case count is now at 199.
